How many children are enrolled in CEP?
There are currently 80 children in the program.
Does my child need to be potty trained to attend CEP?
Potty training is only required in our 4 year-old classroom. The remaining classes (3 years and under) do not have a requirement that children be potty trained.
My child is sick, should I call the school to let them know she won’t be there?
A phone call to the office (703-569-3033) is appreciated if your child is out due to an illness.
My child has allergies will she be safe at CEP?
We are a nut free school and work with parents to accommodate any childhood allergies to the best of our abilities. In addition, we have 2 staff members who have received Medication Administration Training (M.A.T.)
When is tuition due and who do I make checks out to?
Tuition is due the first day of each month and checks can be made payable to “CEP.”
Is there a late fee of tuition not paid by the due date?
Yes, a $10 late fee should be added to payments made after the 10th day of the month.
Does the school close for Fairfax County Public Schools teacher workdays?
Yes, CEP generally follows Fairfax County’s traditional calendar including teacher workdays. For more information, a detailed calendar is distributed at the beginning of each school year.
It’s snowing outside and Fairfax County is opening 2 hours late, when does CEP open?
When Fairfax County schools have either a 1 or 2 hour delay (for any reason), CEP will have a 1 hour delay. Opening at 10:30 AM on Mondays and 11 AM on Tuesday through Fridays.
Do the children get a chance to interact with children of other ages and siblings in the program?
Once a month, CEP host Rainbow Days. On these days, teachers plan and prepare special classroom themes and the children are free to explore and discover other classrooms. This time allows siblings in different classes to play together, children to interact and get to know other teachers, and children to participate in activities outside their normal schedule.
What are some of the classroom themes on Rainbow Days?
Our teachers are an imaginative bunch and classroom themes for rainbow days have included things such as discos, skating rinks, building and climbing with boxes, lemonade stands and kiddie cafes (where the kids help make pancakes).
Can I come visit the school and see the classrooms?
Yes, please call the CEP office at 703-569-3033 to schedule a visit or stop by the office during regular school hours.
